Rules

The show is held and judged under the rules and regulations of the American Iris Society (AIS). Official rules and regulations of the AIS must be followed.

Exhibition privileges are available to all persons and are not limited to members of AIS or East Texas Iris Society.

Show entries must be received at the show site between 8:00 a.m. and 9:45 a.m. the day of the show. Specimens arriving late may be exhibited for "display only". All entries will be displayed until the close of the show at 4:00 p.m. and then promptly removed. 

All entries must be correctly identified, labeled and properly entered under AIS entry cards.

Judges and their immediate family members are not permitted to exhibit in the same division(s) being judged.Only the Judges, Show Clerks, Show Chair and President of ETIS will be allowed in the show area during judging of entries.

Exhibits must be removed by 5pm on the day of the show.

AIS and ETIS assume no responsibility for damage to or loss of property.

Horticulture Rules

This is a varietal show staged alphabetically in each section and each variety is a class.  Exhibitors are limited to one entry in Section H (English Boxes) and one entry per group in Section I (Collections).  An exhibitor may enter only one specimen per variety, but may enter as many varieties as wanted in Division 1 (Sections A-G).

Judging will be according to rules and standards of AIS.

All Horticulture Exhibits must have been grown, groomed nad entered in person by the exhibitor whose name appears on the entry tag.

All registered and introduced varieties must be correctly named.  The Entry Committee is not responsible for naming the Iris.  If an iris is unidentified, it may be placed in Division 1, Section J or DISPLAY ONLY.

All Horticulture entries, except English Boxes and Collections, will be placed by the Placement Committee.

Seedlings must be identified by the hybridizer's name and the seedling name and/or number, if it has been registered but not introduced.

Clear containers for Horticulture entries will be furnished by ETIS.  In extreme cases, the exhibitor may provide suitable clear containers to compliment their entry and remain uniform with other entries in the same category or section.

English Box: Six (6) different named varieties, correctly labeled will be used.  Irises exhibited will be of one type iris (i.e. all Tall Bearded, all Louisiana, all Dutch, etc.  One box per person.
